Cancer v’s COVID
0ScoMo v’s FOMO
Can I tell you having to be careful about staying away from people while my husband Marty gets chemotherapy has been made so much easier by ScoMo making rules that everyone should stay away from each other. He took away FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) which Marty suffers from terribly.
We don’t feel like we are missing out on anything when there is nothing to miss out on.
Our 13 year old daughter Maya is home all the time now, home schooling and staying germ free, and it has been wonderful. Cancer brought concerns for Marty that he won’t get the chance to teach Maya the things Dads teach their daughters, surprisingly COVID-19 has given us some concentrated time to work on this. He has been teaching her car things - how to check water, wheels, oil, change a tyre, hook up a trailer, even drive. How to properly wash and polish a car. How to play cards - canasta, how to be a good winner and a good loser. Safely riding a bike on the road, how to properly throw a football and daily self defence/Martial arts classes.
I love cooking while they playfully argue about the board game they are doing 🥰
Covid Social isolation has given us family time we may not have had without it.
It is precious time we will treasure forever.
